MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

We had such an amazing Christmas Morning!!! It started with Xander and I waking up at 5Am for a little breakfast for him! :) Then I got some cute pictures of him under the tree!!

He loves the lights on the tree and the ornaments!

My favorite Present under the tree!

About 7 Breckyn comes out and sees all the presents that Santa brought her under the tree and her reaction was classic!!! I believe her words were, "OOOOO, presents!!!" And went running to them and just starred! :) We had so much fun watching her open all her presents!! Her favorite present had to be this plush Tinkerbell doll!! Tink even got her own chair at the table for Breakfast! :) She got so many Tinkerbell toys, DVDs, color books, her own camera, and clothes she should be set for a while! :) I think its time to clean out her old toys to make room!!

Running to get on the couch to open presents!

Breckyn with her new Tinkerbell toy!

Breckyn's new Tinkerbell blanket

New Tinkerbell hat and gloves!

Xander made out pretty darn good too!! :) He got lots of 6 month clothes! Santa must have known that he was growing fast!!! He also got some toys, that his big sister seems to think are hers! LOL!!

One of Breckyn's presents that are really more for Mommy and Daddy were BIG GIRL PANTIES!!!! We have been working on potty training forever it seems and she just could care less!! So, today we put some big girl panties on and it didn't go so well! LOL!! Let's just say we went through TWO pair of big girl panties in less than 15 minutes! So, hopefully we can keep working with her on it and it will finally click!! However, we KNOW she knows what to do because she goes by herself at daycare!! I have even HEARD HER TELL THEM she needed to go potty!!! So, fingers crossed!!

All in all we had a GREAT Christmas morning and after opening presents and eating breakfast we were all ready for a mid morning nap with a little help from the trusty rocking chair! :)

Mommy rocking her two babies!

But the most exciting thing was my present! Strider put a piece of wood in a bag for me! Which means I am GETTING MY HARDWOOD FLOORS!!!! WHOHOO!!!!! I am so excited I can't wait!!!

I hope you all got everything you wanted and have a great Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Merry Christmas from Breckyn and Xander!

Christmas Eve!!

I think back on all the GREAT Christmas Eve's I have had in my life and find myself becoming a little sad. We always celebrated Christmas Eve with my Grandma and Grandpa Standlee and the rest of my Mom's side. I can remember getting so excited about what was going to be in our stocking and what board game my Aunt and Uncle would get me this year! :) And now realizing this is going to be our first "real" Christmas, since Breckyn is two now and LOVES opening presents, that she will never know my Grandma and Grandpa. They were two of the most caring, special people this earth has ever seen. Grandpa, or as we called him "Papa," was so into Christmas (and 4th of July, but that is a whole nothing post! LOL!) and loved this time of year. And for some reason the White Christmas tree that they use to have always pops into my head! LOL!! I have so many great memories with my Grandparents and as an adult I wish my kids would be able to know them and have fun with then like we did. But I also know that my parents and Strider's parents will do plenty of spoiling and make fun memories like I have with my Grandparents. I just wish we didn't live 8 hours away from them! So, as I reminisce about the "good ole' days" I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!!!

The Great Roll over

Well, on Tuesday, December 14th, my little monster decided to officially roll over!!! He did it so fast I thought he had some help, but then realized the little princess wasn't home! LOL!! So I flipped him back over (onto his back) and within seconds he was on his tummy!!! The pediatrician told us "not to trust him!" And she was RIGHT! Even when he is in his swing now he tries to roll over! LOL!!! So, we do a lot of playing on the floor these days!!! The best part is seeing Breckyn get down on the ground with him and call him like a dog, "Come on Xander, you cna do it!" LOL!! She is such a great big sister! :) Hopefully I will be able to get video of it!! I tried to get video, but he decided to throw up instead! LOL!!

Gifts from Far far away!

One of our friends down here, Debbie, if from Maylasia!! She and her husband made a trip back to her home to visit her family and while they were there her parents got Breckyn these really cool shoes!! She loves these shoes too!! Frank and Lilly always think about Breckyn and always ask how she is doing!! We like to call them her Mayalasian Grandparents! :) They got to meet Breckyn when she was probably around 6 or 9 months old, and she put them under her spell (which she does quiet well! LOL!). So here she is thanking them for her shoes! :)

Christmas TIME!

Christmas is just around the corner!! I can't wait!! It's by far my favorite time of year!!!! Here are a few pictures to get you in the Christmas mood!

Growing like a Weed!

Well, Xander had his two month check up on the 27th (10 days after he was actually two months!) and just like I knew, he is perfect in every way! :)

Here are some stats:

  • 12lbs-65%
  • 24 inches -95%
  • I forgot what his head size was but it was in the 65% (his Daddy said he has a big head because he got his Daddy's big Brain! LOL!)
  • The doctor said he had the muscle tone of a 4-5 month old! He's my little Hercules
  • Dr. Burns also said he was Perfect and ahead developmentally (not sure how they can tell that this young).
  • He moves all the time and Dr. Burns said she thinks he will be rolling over on his own really soon because of his strength! (Shoot, I knew he was strong when he was still in my belly-all my organs, especially my bladder, knows that too! LOL!)
  • He sleeps 6 hours straight right now, which is great for Mommy!
  • Eats ALL THE TIME! LOL!! Usually around 4-5oz, but there have been times he has eaten 6oz!!

Here are some things Xander likes to do:
  • Right now he loves watching the Christmas lights! LOL!
  • Loves being talked to
  • His Swing!!!! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Pike!!!
  • His Play Gym! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Steele!
  • His sister (for now! LOL!!)
  • Anything that makes noise!
  • LOVES to bounce!! He even uses his legs to bounce himself!
  • Loves to look around
  • Smiling and laughing (he gets his whole body into it when he giggles in his sleep!)

Somethings he doesn't like:

  • Being naked-not a fan!
  • Being held in the cradle position (he has a little reflux so its not comfortable for him).

He is a great baby and is such a blessing to have! :) I could be bias but I am pretty sure I have two of the best kids EVER!

I need a vacation from my vacation!

Well, all the family left yesterday! :( Now our house is pretty quiet, well, quieter than it was. I don't know how "quiet" a house is when there is a 2 month old and a 2 year old! LOL! We had a blast with the family!!!! We ate TONS of turkey, celebrated Christmas, did some shopping, Family pictures, and went to the KSU/North Texas Football game!

Family Pictures!

Cousins! Breckyn, Xander, and Pearl

Thanksgiving/Steele Family Christmas

We officially made it through Thanksgiving, and I would guess about 15lbs later! LOL!! Strider's Mom and Dad, Sister Morgan and her husband Justin and their daughter Pearl, and Strider brother, Sherman, and his girlfriend, Kyle, all came down to celebrate with us!! Which is REALLY nice that we didn't have to travel this year!! I am so exhausted from travel back and forth to Kansas its nice to have everyone come here for a change! We also got to do our Christmas exchange and the kids made out like thieves!! Breckyn got TONS of clothes, Tinkerbell stuff, and even a NEW Tinkerbell movie (YAY for Mom and Dad not having to watch the other one for a while, hopefully)! Xander got a new camo suitcase, TONS of clothes, Lots of great KSU gear, and some toys!!!! It was so much fun watching Breckyn open her presents. Although her favorite present was her very OWN "Make-Make Bag." Which is what she calls my make-up bag! LOL! Grandma got it for her and she even has her own "make-make" in there that consists of some Burt's Bee's chapstick (so if she happens to eat it, it's ok because it's all natural!), some plastic containers, some necklaces/bracelets, and a tooth brush holder! LOL!! But the "make-make bag" has a mirror in it, so she can "fick" (Fix) her hair! LOL!! She is so funny!

Opening the "Make-Make" bag!!! She LOVED it!

Pulling out the necklaces and bracelets!

Happy Little Guy!

Opening more presents!

Doing what boys do on Thanksgiving.... sit on the couch with the remote!

Wild Weekend in Waco!

Well we went to Waco, TX to see Strider's friends that were in from Colorado and had a great time! Rodney and Wendy were down for the Baylor (Rodney is a grad) and Texas A&M (Wendy is a grad) game!! And with Waco only being an hour and a half away we couldn't pass up the opportunity to see them! After all last time we say then was at their wedding at the beginning of August! We ate at Geroge's, hung out with the Bates', and then headed to the Waco Zoo!!! Breckyn had a BLAST at the Zoo!!!

Breckyn at "George's" looking at the menu!

Such a cutie!

Great Day to be a CAT!

So, this Saturday we got the family on rounded up, purple on, and drove over to one of Strider's friend's house to watch the STOMPING that would be the K-State/Texas game!! I was pretty nervous considering last time I had seen Greg and his family, Nikki was PREGNANT with Christian (who is 4), and Sid, well, she was only about 3! Not to mention is was during the KSU-OU game of 2005 (when our punter decided to not go on the field with the PUNT TEAM!) in which we lost miserably, and I HATE, let me repeat the word HATE, OU! Well, not so much OU, but Bob Stoops in general for his part of the Pre-Game show from Hell in the 2004 Big 12 game (Which we got our revenge in the round about way by kicking the TAR out of them!). Anyways, I got off topic! So, it was a great night to be a Wildcat that is for sure!!! I was glad to see the REAL KSU Football team showed up for the game!!! Man, if we could have play like that for the rest of the year it would be great!!! But the best part is..... BOWL ELIGIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOHOO!!! Now I am praying that they go to the NEW bowl game in Dallas, "The Dallas Football Classic." Which, I kinda doubt they do, because I think they are "predicted" to go to the Holiday bowl. Man, if we could afford it I would LOVE to go back to the holiday bowl!!! Ahh, the memories of Strider and I's first date at Disney Land!! Getting off topic, yet again. Anyways, I wanted to share some great pictures of the kids all decked out in their KSU!

This is my FAVORITE ONE!!

My pretty little lady!

Such a happy guy (unless he is hungery!)

Happy Halloween!

Well, our Halloween plans were cancelled due to the ENORMOUS amount of germs that decided to invade our bodies!!! But that didn't stop us to from dressing up and having fun! :) Hopefully next year we will be able to enjoy Halloween a little more!

Breckyn loves her ladybug costume!! She really liked her "Tink wings" (Tinkerbell Wings).

Cute little bug!

My First Halloween!

Xander didn't dress up as anything, but he sported his Halloween shirt!

Recipe for Miserable

Here is the Recipe for a miserable weekend so far:
1-Pneumonia (Breckyn)
2 possibly 3-Sore throats (Me, Strider, and possibly Breckyn- she is pretty horse)
1- Blocked tear duct, but pretty sure its actually pink eye (Xander- good thing the eye drops the doc gave us treat pink eye)
2- Gunky pink eyes (that would be all me)
2- Ear infections (Breckyn)
3- Coughs (Breckyn, Strider, and I)
1 possible 2- Congested noses (Me for sure and Xander seems a little congested)
1-Runny nose
1-chipped tooth that will cost and arm and leg to get fixed (all me!)
And the FINAL ingredient
1-KSU LOSS (because our defense gave up and turnovers killed us)

Add all these together and you will get the most perfectly miserable weekend thus far in the Steele house. I hope this ends SOON, I can't handle much more. And I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RECIPE TO ANYONE!!!

Last week of maternity leave.. NOT GOOD!

Well my last week of maternity leave was NOTHING I wanted it to be. Breckyn has pneumonia with ear infections, Xander has a blocked tear duct causing some nasty gunky stuff in and around his eye, Strider has a sore throat, and I have horrible congestion and a chipped tooth that is going to cost an arm and leg to fix. Ugh. When will it end? Hopefully Breckyn can get back to daycare Monday, which is also my first day back to work, and Xander's first day of daycare!

I am terrified Breckyn will get worse and have to be put in the hospital, but she seems to be better now. She still has some pretty bad coughing when she lays flat on her back, but other than that she is a wild woman! She is on breathing treatments now with her "Dino-mask!" She does really well with them and loves wearing her mask! She also has antibiotics that she is taking too.

But regardless of Breckyn not feeling well, she wanted to wear her ladybug Halloween costume. I figure why not, we aren't going to get to enjoy Halloween this year anyways, and I did pay for it! LOL!! But she is the cutest ladybug in Dallas I think!

Here's to hoping my week at work goes by quick and painless and that my family starts to feel better soon!!

First Pumpkin Carving!

Strider, Breckyn, and I carved our first pumpkin last night! Xander was just to tired to help, so he just slept! Breckyn really wasn't a fan of pulling any of the "guts" out of the pumpkin! She would use a spoon but if any of it got on her she was NOT happy! LOL!! It probably didn't help that right after that we realized she was running a small fever too. But regardless we got some great pictures!

Getting ready to start!

Getting her hands in there!!

Not happy her feet got "guts" on them!

Finished product!

Hey good lookin' whatcha got cookin'?

We got Breckyn this kitchen set for her birthday (best gift ever!) and her Great Aunt Shari made her the cute apron for her birthday as well! The first thing Breckyn does when she comes home from daycare is play with her kitchen!! She likes to make spaghetti and coffee! LOL!!

My cute pig-tailed cook!

How could you not eat what this cutie cooks? LOL!

Fun times!

Breckyn and Mommy both feel asleep watch Breckyn's favorite movie "Tink," which is Tinkerbell the Great Fairy Rescue! We can't go ANYWHERE without "Tink!" She has just started this obsession with Tinkerbell stuff!!! If it has Tink on it she is in heaven!!! :)

Breckyn also fell in the lake while Daddy was fishing! LOL!! She didn't go under the water or anything though! Strider heard her coming up behind him and turned and she tried to stop, but slid in some mud and slid right into the lake! LOL!!! She was a MESS!!! She had mud from head to toe!!!

Bath Time is Fun!

Just a cute picture of my little man after his bath!! And I didn't even get the "golden shower" which he is so good at doing to me!! :)

Go-STATE!

Last Thursday KSU played KU (at KU) and we all sat down to watch the game as a family! LOL!! Breckyn just cracked us up!! Just randomly she would yell, "GO STATE!" Or she would hold her nose and say, " PU KU!" LOL!! She is such an smart little girl!! But I found it tough to watch (even though we KILLED them) with a newborn in my arms!! I just wanted to jump up and down and yell!!! LOL!! There were a couple times that I did stand up and cheer, and immediately looked down to see if I woke Xander up, but it didn't even phase him! LOL!! When my boy is asleep he is really asleep! LOL!! :)

But this is how my little man watched the game:

"I can't even walk yet, and I already hate KU!"
